Basic Circuit, Series and Series Measure.
When we connect various components together with wires, we create and electric circuit. The electrons must have a voltage source to create their movement and, of course, they need a path to travel.
The resulting measurements for the Basic Circuit were:
When the switch was closed = 0V
When the switch was closed= 5V
Across the LED= 2.5
Across the resistor=2.5
As you continue to measure in various points of the circuit, you will find out that the total Voltage of the Complete Circuit is 5. Across the LED you measure half of it. If you add all of the measurements a total of 5, will be the result.
The Measurement in the series is is 2.5V for each LED, if you measure the positive leg of the first LED and the Negative leg of the second LED, the total measure will be 5V.
In this circuit there is no need of using resistor, because the extra LED acts as one.
